How to make a reservation?

Do I have to pay for the reservation?

To confirm your reservation and the price of your rented car, you will have to pay between 10% and 30% of total price (the percentage depends on the location of the car). The rest of the amount you will pay in cash or with credit card when you take the car. Prior to any payment you will get our clearance to do so.

Does additional equipment come with the rented car?

Additional equipment like child car seat, GPS navigation and TV/DVD player are available but they are paid extra, so please let us know on time if you need any. Winter tires are must have during winter season and they are included in the price.

Can a reservation be canceled or changed?

Yes, if you wish or need to change your reservation just choose “Change” or “Cancel” reservation icon. Or you can take your reservation number and contact us

Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes, but your deposit will be returned to you only if you cancel at least 5 days prior to selected date.

How will I get confirmation that the car is reserved?

The confirmation will be sent to e-mail address which you will write when filling out the reservation form, therefore it is important that you write it correctly.

Are there any requirements that must be met in order to rent a car?

There are only the usual requirements – you must be over 21, you must have valid driving licence and more than two years of driver's experience, and you must have a credit card.

How can I take a car in one of the Croatian's airports?

Our rent-a-car branches and our partners' branches can be found in all bigger airports in Croatia (airport Split, airport Zadar, airport Dubrovnik and airport Zagreb). The details for taking the car will be sent to you together with the conformation for reservation.

Can I take the car after working hours?

Yes, but in that case you must let us know your plans for taking the car on time, and you must tell us the exact time of your arrival.

Which documents do I have to show when renting a car?

You must show our employee your own valid driving licence issued in the same state where you live, valid credit card and some ID.

Do I have to check out the car before taking it?

Yes, it is necessary to completely check the vehicle, and its condition has to be written on a special form. In case you see some irregularity that is not written down you have to notify XL Rent a Car employee.

Can other people drive the car during the renting period?

Only the people whose name is written in the contract (driver and additional driver) can drive the car. If there is an accident and the driver isn't the one whose name is written in the contract all insurances, that otherwise apply, become invalid (TP, LP, CDW, SCDW, PAI, WUG). In other words, the driver becomes responsible for the damage and is obliged to pay additional cost if the car can't be rented to another person (up to 30 days).

What if I return the car earlier or later than written in the contract?

You can return the car earlier or later but you have to notify us on time. In each case, the price is fixed and invariable on the basis of 24 hours rental. If you rent a car for one day we tolerate transgression of 2 hours, after which you have to pay for an extra day. If you return the car less than 24 hours before the date and time written in the contract, please contact us so we can make necessary arrangements. Whether you plan to return the car in one of our branches (Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Šibenik, Vodice, Primošten, Trogir, Makarska, Omiš) or you wish for our employee to come and pick up the vehicle somewhere else, it is important that you tell us your plans.
